Cyr Guitars Builds Custom Instruments Too!

Cyr Custom Guitars builds electric guitars according to the general design of the Fender(TM) Stratocaster. While these guitars are NOT Fenders, and they are NOT Stratocasters, they may in some cases have genuine Fender parts in them. I can build you a customized guitar with the type of neck, body, pickup configuration, pickguard, and hardware that you want--the idea is to provide you with a guitar with exactly the look and the playing characteristics that you want. These instruments are not hand-crafted, since we do not make the bodies and necks for these instruments in the shop. Here are some of the choices: Bodies: A wide variety of colors and finishes are available. I am especially fond of bodies that have highly figured woods - flame or quilted maple, flamed claro walnut, figured koa, but the prices will tend to be quite high for special bodies like this. Necks: For the guitars I use necks of made of differnt kinds of wood from various sources. Here are some of the choices: Simple one-piece necks based on the designs perfected by Leo Fender Necks with flat or tilt-back headstocks of made from laminated blocks of 3, 5 or more pieces of wood, either all the same species, or of contrasting woods like maple, walnut, rosewood, or purpleheart. One thing I can honestly say: I've never built two instruments exactly alike - every Cyr Guitars instrument is unique. Pickup Configurations: My favorite is two single coils with a humbucker in the bridge position. We can do any other configuration as well. The pickups can be Fender, MightyMite, Kent Armstrong, and various other types that you may want. We can also order any of the name brand pickups like DiMarzio or EMG if you like. Pickguards: Anything you want. No pickguard at all. We use un-branded aftermarket pickguards as well as ready-made pickguards from Stewart-macDonald, WD Music, Allparts, and made-to-order pickguards from Warmoth. On occasion I've made custom pickguards as well - in clear acrylic for example. Hardware: Normally we use aftermarket bridges and tuners--these are of excellent quality. If you want Schaller, Gotoh, or other brand-name tuners, we can get those too! Prices are normally in the range of $1000 to $1600, depending on the options you choose.
