I've just finished work on what I consider to be my best work so far--a 4-string Jazz-style bass with the following characteristcs:

  • Flame hard-rock maple neck:
    • 34-inch scale
    • 4 strings
    • Indian rosewood fingerboard
    • Abalone shell 6.35mm position markers and white side dots
    • 21 medium-jumbo frets
    • Ultra-narrow neck: 1-7/16" wide at the nut
  • Fender 70's-vintage Schaller-style tuners with the Fender logo
  • Fender Elite cast-brass bridge with fine tuners
  • Bartolini 4-string pickups (P/J configuration)
  • Bartolini preamp with active bass and treble controls
  • Traditional jazz-style volume controls--one for each pickup
  • Chrome hardware
  • Body:
    • Solid maple with spalted flame maple bookmatched top
    • Semi-gloss lacquer finish
    • Rear control cavity
