This bass is my most ambitious project so far. Here are the specs:

  • 6-string neck-through bass
  • Neck core is a 5-piece laminate of shedua, purpleheart, and hard maple
  • Single-Cut Body wings will be black walnut with a front and back layer of .030 black fiber, with the top and back of 5/16" bookmatched spalted maple
  • Black hardware:
    • Schaller bridge
    • Gotoh miniature tuning machines
    • Black dome knobs
  • Carey Nordstrand's Dual-Coil pickups
  • Purpleheart and spalted birdseye maple pickup covers
  • Audere Engineering 4-band EQ Preamp
  • LED-lighted side position markers
  • Spalted birdseye maple fingerboard with 1/8" to 3/16" tapered side bindings
  • 35" scale x 2-1/8 at the nut, 3-7/16" at the 24th fret
  • Dual double-action truss rods with graphite stabilizing bars
  • Spalted maple overlay on the headstock
